US Army Heart Shield ”Bulletproof” bible + box – ”Gods Weapon” – Named – amazing condition – Militaire uitrusting – 1943

Exceedingly difficult to find - an original Heart Shield Bible, from 1943 when these shields were sold WITH!! the original mailing box in reasonably condition; the box is a rare variation with a different text then I have seen before. The bible cover is also in amazing shape and also a more rare variant in terms of text and font ''Gods Weapon''. The bible is nicely named to Hollis C Petty Jr; it was a gift from his mom. He was born in 1924 and wa from Knoxville, he passed away in 2019 at the age of 94. Great research potential! I dont have time to do it. Both the bible and box are in nice condition; the cover has a beautiful patina and almost all the gold finish still. The metal plates were to prevent a bullet from reaching the soldier’s heart (which they did on several occasions. surface of the bible has a great patina. A very nice 100% original item for your US WW2 collection; will for sure be a centerpiece in your collection!
